Brad Pitt Bids $120,000 For 'Date' With Emilia Clarke

We're pretty sure there are a fair few people in this world who'd be up for putting a bid in to win some time withGame of Thronesactress Emilia Clarke. But we're guessing most of those people don't have a spare $120,000 (£88,000) lying around - like Brad Pitt does.

During a silent auction at Sean Penn's annual gala for Haiti - held at Milk Studios in LA - Pitt but a six-figure bid in to watch an episode ofGame of Throneswith the British star.

The worst bit? He didn't even win, as he was outbid by someone else. Unlucky, fella.

According toVariety, the auction started at $20,000 (£15,000). Pitt's first offer of $80,000 (£59,000) was put on the table, which was then raised to $90,000 (£66,000).

It was then that Kit Harington - who plays the brooding Jon Snow - returned from the bogs and agreed to sit in on the viewing to bulk out the prize.

It was then that Pitt's interest must have been piqued even more as he upped his bid to a whopping $120,000, but it proved to not be quite enough, being outbid by someone who ended the auction at $160,000.

The charity event, hosted by Sean Penn, Creative Artists Agency's Bryan Lourd and Sean and Alexander Parker, was also attended by the likes of Lena Dunham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Segel, Connie Britton, Patricia Arquette and Mark Burnett.

Leonardo DiCaprio was there, too, and bid $80,000 for a painting by artist Josh Smith - but he was outbid by Emilia Clarke, who had upped the ante to $90,000. Luckily for Leo, there was a second painting available for him to buy, meaning they both managed to walk away happy... albeit tens of thousands of dollars lighter.

DiCaprio wasn't just there to go head-to-head for art withGame of Thronesstars, and also gave a speech of the dangers of climate change.

"The biggest challenge now is to make sure that everyone understands what's at stake," he said.

He also took the opportunity to take a stab at Trump, asking: "But how can we do this when we have a president who, just this week, proposed a massive increase in offshore drilling?"

DiCaprio added: "Their denial of so much of the scientific proof and evidence belongs in 'the Earth is flat' chapter of human history."

The actor also applauded host Sean Penn for his philanthropic work with Haiti, with over $3 million raised by the midway point of the gala - a figure that was expected to only climb throughout the night.

"These are obviously incredibly turbulent and scary times," DiCaprio said. "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that has."
