Chris Hemsworth's stunt double says he had to eat ’10 meals a day’ to prepare for role

Chris Hemsworth's stunt double has opened up about the gruelling regime he had to follow to prepare forThor: Love and Thunder, including eating a whopping '10 meals a day'.

Even for someone like Hanton, who has worked closely with Hemsworth as his stunt double for over 10 years and started training in the art form nearly two decades ago, he knew it was going to be a challenge.

And there I am thinking pizza is the only acceptable midnight snack.

"I’ve always had to work double hard to try and get anywhere near his height - he is 6ft 4 and I’m 6ft 1, I have to wear 2 inch lifts in my shoes to get near his height - and I train like a mad man to get anywhere near his physicality."

Speaking about the diet regime, the stuntman said: "I was eating up to 10 meals a day - two of those would be protein shakes.

"We were training twice a day and I never thought in my life that I would be sick of food and not wanting to eat food, because I love food. I hated it.

Hanton went on to say that they had a 'great chef' on set who would cook for the two Thors. Every two hours, an alarm would go off and they'd have to eat.

While it was healthy and 'fantastic' food, it wasn't exactly a pleasant experience waking up and going to sleep full every day.

"It sounds ridiculous but I would cook two breasts of chicken and leave them on the kitchen side, so when I’d wake up to go to the loo half way through the night, I’d eat the chicken and then go back to sleep," he continued.

Thankfully, the pair support each other throughout the process.

Hanton added: "There’s never a dull moment with him or anyone in his family or crew. The team has been together for a long time, it’s just like one big family."
