Top Gear's Paddy McGuinness Skids Off Road In Lamborghini While Shooting

Paddy McGuinness was fortunate to avoid injury after skidding off the road in a Lamborghini while filmingTop Gear.

The presenter and comedian was shooting in North Yorkshire earlier today (Tuesday) when he crashed while driving a 1990 Lamborghini Diablo.

The 46-year-old came off the road at a slight bend, where some oil on the road was subsequently identified. Luckily, he was unhurt in the incident.

A BBC spokesperson told LADbible: "DuringTop Gearfilming in North Yorkshire today presenter Paddy McGuinness's car skidded and left the road, coming to an almost immediate stop. Paddy was quickly taken to the production unit base for medical checks and is unhurt.

"No other vehicles were involved and the police, who had been monitoring filming, were quickly on the scene to assist. Safety onTop Gearis always the production team's priority and the vehicle's speed at the time was within the road's limit of 60mph."

In the aftermath of the crash, McGuinness was reported to be 'smiling as ever'.

A source toldThe Sun: "Paddy is fine but a bit shaken as anyone would be when having a scare at speed. It could have been a lot worse.

"There's always paramedics and police on aTop Gearshoot so he was in good hands for a once-over, but he's smiling as ever."

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the section of road where McGuinness crashed has claimed many lives.

They said: "Police attended a collision involving a Lamborghini Diablo, which crashed into a field after the driver lost control on the B6255 near Ribblehead. The incident happened at around 3pm today.

"A Roads Policing Group officer noticed the incident while patrolling the route, which has a high number of serious and fatal collisions.

"Fortunately, nobody was injured and no other vehicles were involved."

McGuinness is yet to speak publicly about the crash.
